Travel Tips #2

When going on vacation we are always looking for ways to make traveling much better, so what can assist you more than some travel tips. In the previous travel post, we already discussed some tips so we would just pick up from where we left off, so lets go!

Tip#3:Emergency Kit
Sometimes life can be very unpredictable and can hit you some curve balls at some really unexpected times, but it is better to over prepare than not to all. With that being said, it is best that you put in your carry on some panadol, gravol, bandages, tums, cough drops or other items that you think you would need personally in such an event. Most pharmacies carry small emergency/first aid kits and it may not be such a bad idea to invest in one just to cover your bases.

Tip #4:Emergency Money
In the event that you find yourself in a quandary, you will at least have some cash at hand to get to where you need to be or at least call someone and let them know about what has happened to you. Money can be kept in a old chap-stick tin and placed in your carry on, or your shoes or a secret pocket in your jacket, but wherever you put it is up to you, but this method allows you greater flexibility in difficult situations whilst travelling.

But that's all for now so until next time keep cool, stay safe and be awesome!!!

Shopping Baby Shopping

Shopping is a definite must do activity whilst in Curacao. Here, there are many shopping areas, but the main ones are known as Punda, Otrobanda and Salina. Punda is the hub of shopping on the island with streets only made for pedestrians, this makes for an interesting adventure to find your favorite brand name stores like Converse or Victoria Secret or even a cool shop that sells those souvenirs that your family has requested from you.  Aside from this, if you are a perfume lover like myself, then the store called Penha is for you. Here you can get reasonably priced colognes and perfumes as well as be sprayed down with your favorites free of charge, even if you are not purchasing.

In Punda, there is a floating market where Venezuelan merchants come and sell their fresh produce on small boats and if you are a lover of vegetables and fruits, checking the market out is a must before heading over to Otrobanda. To get to Otrobanda. one must journey across to the floating bridge.

Friends, let me tell you, when crossing this bridge listening and brisk walking is imperative. I say this as the bridge opens to allow huge ships to pass through and a signal is usually ringing to alert pedestrians, let's just say that I have had to run quite a few times, however, if you are unable to make it across, fear not, all you have to do is hold on for the ride and you will be just fine.
Once you've crossed the bridge, you're in Otrobanda. From this side of the island, you are able to get lovely views of the sea, visit local vendors for all your Curacao paraphernalia (dresses, hats, clothing) all handmade by the local people. On this side you can also sample some local food, but please note that the portions are huge, but it tastes amazing!!!! But hey, in the words fo Bunji Garlin-take a trip, take a trip, take a trip now, and experience all that this lovely island has for you. But until next time, keep cool, stay safe, and be awesome :).

Curacao Ostrich Farm

Hey there and welcome back to part II of our adventures in Curacao. Well today's in adventure we will be discussing Curacao Ostrich Farm. This place is unlike any other as the place has a type of safari feel to it. Regardless of that, this outing was quite interesting.

On the farm, one has the ability to get on a jeep and ride through the area where the ostriches are roaming free (and yes they do come up to you, so be careful!!). Aside from this, you have the opportunity to ride an ostrich, yes you heard me, ride an ostrich. For all of you brave souls who are willing to indulge in such an experience please be my guest, but for me, after hearing that an ostrich can run up to 43 mph and its kick can kill a grown human, I will sit it out, no thank you!!!
Although those are quite interesting facts, another cool thing about ostriches is that their eggs are extremely tough and can withstand the weight of a grown human and you are offered the opportunity to stand on one and test it out yourself just for the fun of it so why not. This farm also has a restaurant on site, which allows you to try ostrich steak and omelets which, from what I am told, is not served at  very many places. With all that being said, there are many other activities like riding a quad or visiting the gift shop that can be done at this place, so why not make it an outing for the family, as I am sure they would love it, but until next time keep cool, stay safe and be awesome!!!!

(Yes this is the ostrich egg that I am standing on)

Curacao Sea Aquarium

Alright, so guys, it's another day and your body is calling out for another adventure. Well friends in Curacao there is an endless supply of activities to do each day, however, today we would be looking at the Curacao Sea Aquarium. Let me just start off by saying, the exterior of this place is so pretty that you simply fall in love from outside, just look at this picture below.

From entering into a submarine, seeing a dolphin and sea lion show, getting kisses from both dolphins and the sea lion, the lovely scenery, touching a stingray and holding a starfish, the possibilities are endless at this aquarium. If you plan on going, be sure to walk with your camera and ensure that you have a lot of memory space as this trip is one worth capturing and keeping as a memory for life. You don't have to take my word for it, you can see for yourself below, but, until next time, keep cool, stay safe and be awesome!!!!.

Curacao-Knip Beach

So you're thinking of traveling to Curacao, but quite concerned as to what you are going to do when you get there. Well, fear not friends as I have just the right thing for you. If you're from a country where there aren't many beaches or a place where the beaches are not very enticing, then I urge you to visit Knip beach and see if this beach doesn't change your mindset.
Though the road to the beach may be long and quite hilly to get to depending on the route taken, stock up on gravol if you are prone to getting motion sickness. However, when you arrive, you will not be disappointed.Don't believe me? Well look at this:

If you are the thrill seeking type, then the beach has a nice little cliff for you to jump off of into the clear blue water and swim back to shore just for the fun of it. But, if you are like me and appreciate life, then you will either just take a little dip in the water or just sit and take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy the breeze, but that's all, for now, until next time, keep cool, stay safe and be awesome!!!!

Beautiful Curacao

Good Afternoon all you wonderful people. This blog is a part of my MBA in General Management, however, this is going to be quite exciting and fun, as I will be reviewing many Caribbean Destinations and all of the awesome activities that they have to offer. With that being said, let's jump right into it. The first country I will be reviewing would be the lovely Curacao.

Curacao is a small Caribbean Island, belonging to a part of the ABC islands (Aruba and Bonaire). This island is known mostly for its beautiful beaches, duty-free shopping and lovely sights to see. In Curacao, Dutch is the main language, however, Papiamentu is the most common one to the island, but fear not as many locals speak Spanish and English. The currency used on the island can be either in USD (United States Dollars) or ANG (Netherlands Antillean Guilder), which I know is of critical importance to those of you planning to go shopping. But, ladies and gentlemen, we shall delve further into the adventures of Curacao in later posts, so until then, keep cool, stay safe and be awesome!!!!
